God will fulfill His promises to you
The Word of God is filled with God’s promises for our lives. Sisters, God made specific promises to each of us and we must hold on to them even when circumstances seem to be against us and that there is no clear and bright way. This makes me think of Abraham and Sarah’s story…
Biblical lessons to take from Abraham and Sarah
Throughout his journey, God kept reminding Abram (later changed to Abraham) of His ultimate promises to Him.
"I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted" - Genesis 13:16
Throughout the years, Abram continued to have faith and believed in the soon and certain realization of God’s promises. The years passed and the prophetic Word God had pronounced in Abram’s early years still hadn’t come to pass. Abram became impatient, slightly took his eyes away from Heaven and started reflecting on his advanced age. This ultimately led him to pronounce these words:
"And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.” - Genesis 15:3
God immediately reassured Abram and reaffirmed His solemn promise to Him, putting his heart at ease again:
“He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.”
Genesis 15:5-6
Sarai took the matters into her own hands…
A few years had passed and still no offspring. Sarai (later changed to Sarah) who also started reflecting on her old age, thinking that the accomplishment of the promise was taking too long, schemed “a plan” to meet and fulfill her wishes. She gave her servant to her husband so she could conceive in her place.
It was not a great idea.
When we Christians decide to take matters into our own hands, when we decide to take the lead on “helping” God in fulfilling his tender loving promises towards us, it inevitably results in deception, tears, pain and sorrow.
Never a great idea.
“A delay was permitted, to test his faith in the power of God; but he failed to endure the trial.”
Daughters of God – Ch. 2 – Women of Note in the Old Testament – Ellen G. White {27.1}
Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!
Sisters, we must at all times, let God fulfil his prophetic Word in our lives in His own Time and Way. Let Him play out the story for you. Who better than God can safely bring you to the finish line? Be of good courage and let Him guide you, It will be so much more beautiful and enjoyable. He knows the way. He knows all the roadblocks and bumps that you will encounter along the way. But trust that you are in good hands.
And the day finally came…
Despite their lack of faith and doubts, God accomplished what he had promised them. Because He is a tender-loving and faithful Father.
The birth of Isaac, bringing, after a lifelong waiting, the fulfillment of their dearest hopes, filled the tents of Abraham and Sarah with gladness….
Daughters of God – Ch. 2 – Women of Note in the Old Testament – Ellen G. White {27.3}
Our life should be a Testimony of what God can and will do in the life of his faithful servants. So much pain and sorrow would be avoided if we would just trust in Him and let him take the wheel. My dear beloved sister, God has not forgotten about you. You are the apple of his eye. ‘He knows the plans He has for you, plans to proser you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Believe and trust that He knows what He is doing. He is watching OVER your life. Lay your worries at His feet and Believe.
