"I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift another has that. " - 1 Corinthians 7:7
Some are called to marriage, others are called to remain single
Questions for you my sister. Growing up, were you the type of girl to dream about living in a beautiful castle with your prince charming and ridding off into the sunset? Or even better, were you the type to daydream about your wedding day, dress and choice of cake flavour? Or were you mostly the opposite, one who just lived her life without ever thinking about those things?
Sister, whichever scenario you relate to, rest assured God has a perfect plan created out of love just for you.
If God called you to marriage, patience is key
The true key secret to any of your concerns is simply called Patience.
Yes, I agree, easier said than done.
Patience is a simple word of eight letters, but it holds so much power. To be patient does not mean, you won’t face any obstacles, avoid being right in the eye of a storm or never shed any tears, No-no-no. But to be patient, and holding this virtue close to your heart will get you to the other shore safely, with NO regrets.
Once again I agree, easier said than done.
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. - James 1:3-4
Prayer is necessary to preserve your faith
Sister, you may at times feel discouraged and wonder if God forgot about you, seeing that everyone around you seems to be in a committed relationship and has found their significant other. You, on the other hand, are still remaining “solo”.
Well, I am here to tell you that if God called you to marriage, if He genuinely impressed this desire upon your heart, you must with no hesitation, wait after HIS perfect timing.
Once again, let me insert the word of the day, Patience.
Life is definitely not about your will, but God’s will. Things and circumstances don’t happen according to your watch but only in His faithful time. Well, this applies only if you are seeking to experience true joy, happiness and success in Christ Jesus.
“The apostle says we succeed in the grace of temperance that we may add patience. Patience under trials will keep us from saying and doing those things which will injure our own souls and injure those with whom we associate. Let your trials be what they will, nothing can seriously injure you if you exercise patience, if you are calm and unexcited when in trying positions.”

In the waiting, take all your perplexities, cares and sorrow to the Lord in prayer. He cares about your feeling and looks at you with so much tenderness, love and sympathy. He wants you to be Happy. But happiness can only be found in HIM. There is one simple thing He is demanding of us:
“He asks us to trust patiently in His wisdom, not in the supposedly wise plans of our own making.” – Ellen G. White – Our Father Care p. 170
Leaving murmuring and complaints aside
The psalmist said “My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him”. Psalm 65:5. Let no words of discouragement and doubt, escape from your lips. Your lips were made to praise God and to express words of gratitude, hope and trust. If the answer seems delayed, wait for it. God’s ways are mysterious and unexplainable but they are perfect.
“Patience must have its perfect work or we cannot be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Troubles and afflictions are appointed unto us, and shall we bear them all patiently or shall we make everything bitter by our complaining? The gold is put into the furnace that the dross may be removed. Shall we, then, not be patient under the eye of the refiner? We must refuse to sink into a sad and disconsolate state of mind, but show calm trust in God, counting it all joy when we are permitted to endure trials for Christ’s sake.”
